His Eminence Ambrose (Lenis) of Kalavryta and Aigialeia is the Metropolitan of the Metropolis of Kalavryta and Aigialeia. The metropolis is located in Achaea in the northern part of the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece.

Life

Athanasios Lenis was born in 1938. Upon his entering the Holy Orders Athanasios was given the name Ambrose. He served as dean of the religious office of the Greek police and as chief secretary of the Holy Synod before his election in 1976 to the episcopate as a titular bishop. He was consecrated on August 17, 1976.[1]. Bishop Ambrose was elected Metropolitan of Kalavryta and Aigialeia and enthroned in 1978.

In August 1989, Metr. Ambrose initiated the establishment of the Kallimanoupouleio Ecclesiastical Ministry Center (KEDIK) in Kalavryta to provide for the special needs of elderly and chronically-ill. In 2000, Metr. Ambrose also initiated the establishment of the Kalavryta department of the School of Byzantine Music in the town of Aigio at the Service Center of the Kallimanopouleio Institute. [1]
