{{cleanup}}The holy, glorious and all-laudable '''[[Apostle]] Aristarchus''' (also ''Aristarchos'') of the [[Apostles#The_Seventy|Seventy ]] was chosen by [[Jesus Christ]] to preach the good news contained in the [[Gospel]]. St. Aristarchus is commemorated with the Seventy on [[January 4]], on [[April 14]] or [[April 15|15]] with Ss. [[Apostle Pudens|Pudens]] and [[Apostle Trophimus|Trophimus]], and on [[September 27]] together with Ss. [[Apostle Mark|Mark]] and [[Apostle Zenas|Zenas]].
==Life==
Aristarchus worked with the holy [[Apostle Paul]] in order to enlighten others with the written works of the [[Gospel]]. He was Saint St. Paul's [[disciple]] and later became [[bishop]] of the city of Apamea in Syria.
He gave up his life and became a [[martyr]] under Emperor Nero.
