Barthoromeos (Katsouris) was born in 1928 in Athens, Greece. His education included studies in law as well as theology. After completing his studies he entered the [[Holy Orders]]. In 1954, he was [[ordination|ordained]] a [[deacon]], followed by his ordination into the [[priest]]hood in 1958. In 1974, Father Barthoromeos was elected to the [[episocateepiscopate]] and was [[consecration of a bishop|consecrated]] Metropolitan of Megara and Salamis on [[May 27]], 1974.
