Our father among the [[saint]]s '''John the Hairy''', [[Fool-for-Christ]] at Rostov (d. 1580) lived in humility, patience, and unceasing prayer.  He is also called "the Merciful" due to the many healings which occurred at his grave as well as for the connection with St. John the Merciful, [[Patriarch]] of Alexandria.  His [[feast day]]s are celebrated on both [[September 3]], the date of his repose, and [[November 12]], which he shares with Patriarch John the Merciful.
