His Eminence '''Dimitrios (Zaharengas) of Irinoupolis''' has been Metropolitan of the [[Archdiocese of Irinoupolis]] since 2004. Previously he served as [[Archbishop]] of the [[Archdiocese of Cameroon|Cameroon]].
Born Themistocles Zaharengas in 1965 in Sohos, Thessalonica, Themistocles studied at the Ecclesiastical Education Academy of Thessalonica and the Theological Faculty of the Aristotelian University of Thessalonica. In 1989, he attended the missionary [[Monastery]] of the Archangel Michael-Tharri on the island of Rhodes. He was [[tonsure]]d a [[monk]] with the name Dimitrios.
In 1992, Dimitrios began a period of service as a [[missionary]], serving in Madagascar, India, Hong Kong, and the Philippine Islands. In 1999, he was [[ordination|ordained]] a [[deacon]] and then a [[priest]] by His Eminence [[Nikitas (Lulias) of Dardanellia|Nikitas (Lulias) of Hong Kong]]. Aftr becoming a member of the [[clergy]], Fr. Dimitrios served at the Church of the Annunciation in Alexandria, Egypt and as manager of the Press Office and Public Relations at the patriarchate.
On [[September 16]], 2002 Fr. Dimitrios was elected by the [[Holy Synod]] of the [[Church of Alexandria]] as Archbishop of Cameroon. He was [[consecration of a bishop|consecrated]] on [[October 6]], 2002. In 2004, Abp. Dimitrios was appointed Metropolitan of the [[Archdiocese of Irinoupolis]].
