The holy, glorious, all-laudable '''Apostle Cephas''' is numbered among the [[Apostles#The_Seventy|Seventy Apostles]], and was [[bishop]] of Iconiumor Colophon, Pamphylia. It is assumed that he is the one who is mentioned by the [[Apostle Paul]] ([[I Corinthians|1 Cor.]] 15:5).
The Church remembers St. Cephas on [[March 30]]th with, Apostles [[Apostle Sosthenes|Sosthenes]], [[Apostle Apollo|Apollos]], [[Apostle Caesar|Caesar]], and [[Apostle Epaphroditus|Epaphroditus]] ; and on [[December 8]]th with the same apostles and [[Apostle Onesiphorus|Onesiphorus]].
Apostles of the 70 were chosen and sent by the Lord [[Jesus Christ Himself ]] himself to preach. They were chosen some time after the selection of the Twelve Apostles ([[Gospel of Luke|Luke]] 10:1-24).
