== Early life ==
He Bitomir Prodanov was born as Vitomir (Bитомир) into the family Đorđe George (Ђорђе) and Jelka (Јелка)Prodanov, on [[August 24]], 1890, in Bačko the village of Backo Petrovo Seloin then the Austria-Hungary Empire. He finished In 1901, he completed his primary school education in his birthplace in 1901Backo Petrovo Selo. He graduated from Bitomir and then entered the Grand Serbian Orthodox Gymnasium in Novi Sad from which he graduated in 1909. Vitomir He continued his higher education in the Serbian Orthodox Theology School in Sremski Karlovci, graduating in 1913. He was then returned for a teacher in his birthplace, Bačko several months to Backo Petrovo Selo, for as a couple of monthsteacher. On [[June 1]], 1917, Bishop Georgije (Letić), Bishop of Temišvar, appointed him consistorial subnotary of for the [[Diocese]] of Temišvar on .  On [[June 1August 18]], 1917. He , Bitomir took [[monasticism|monastic]] vows in Bezdin Monastery [[August 18]] ([[August 5]], Old Style) in front of before [[Archimandrite]] Isak Issac (Došen) and was given the name VikentijeVicentius. He was [[ordination|ordain]]ed a [[deacon]] on [[September 12]] by Bp. Georgije. Vikentije In 1919, Dn. Vicentius was transferred to the post of consistorial notary of the Diocese of Bačka in 1919. He was raised to ranks the dignity of [[protodeacon]] and then [[archdeacon]]. From 1921 to 1932 he served as secretary of the executive board of [[monastery|monasteries]] in Karlovci Metropolitanate. He During this time he continued his education at the Philosophical Faculty in Belgrade, graduating in 1929, having studied studying National and Byzantine History. Vikentije was ordained a hieromonk on [[October 18]]/He graduated in 1929. On [[October 31|31]], 1929, Dn. Vicentius was ordained a hieromonk and raised to the rank of archimandrite , then on [[November 20]]/[[December 3]], he was raised to the rank of archimandrite.  In 1932, Archim. He Vicentius was elected Secretary General of the Sentence [[Synod ]] of the Serbian Orthodox Church in 1932. He remained in this position until for only a short time before he was elected [[vicar ]] [[bishop]] of Marča, [[June 21]]/on [[July 4]], 1932. He was [[consecration of a bishop|consecrated ]] by Patriarch Varnava and Bishops , assisted by Bps. Irinej of Bačka, Serafim of Raška and Prizren, Sava of Srem, and [[Platon of Banja Luka|Platon]] of Moravice.
== As Bishop ==
Bp. Vikentije Vicentius remained a vicar until 1939 when he was elected Bishop of Zletovo and Strumica. He In 1940, he was also assigned as administrator of the Diocese of Ohrid and Bitola . After the Germans and Bulgarians occupied the diocese in 1940. He 1941, he was exiled from Zletovo by Bulgarian fascists. After World War II, the Communist regime did not allow him to return from exile as the Communists wanted to create a Macedonian Orthodox Church separate from the Church of Serbia. He From 1947 to 1950, Bp. Vicentius was administrator of Diocese of Žiča from 1947 to 1951 by wish , during the absence of St. Nikolaj, [[Nikolai Velimirovic|Nikolai]] and of the Diocese of Srem (1947-1951).
== As Patriarch ==
Bp. Vikentije Vicentius was elected Patriarch of Serbia on [[July 1]]/[[July 14|14]], 1950. He visited several other national local churches in order to strenghthen strengthen ties which that had been weakened during the war. He put placed enormous energy into trying to resolve the problem of Pension Security funds for [[priest]]sof the patriarchate. Patr. Vikentije Vicentius was strongly opposed to the foundation splitting of the so called Serbian church and the creation of a Macedonian Church. He was an eminent a historian and a member of the Society of Historians of Vojvodina. He also was editor-in-chief of their its gazette.
Patr. Vikentije Vicentius died on [[July 5]], 1958 under mysterious circumstances after a session of the holy assembly of bishops. The at which the assembly rejected suggestions of from the communist regime to approve the foundation establishment of the a Macedonian church. His death seemed not to be natural. He died on [[July 5]], 1958. He was buried in the tomb of Metr. Mihajlo in the [[Cathedral]] Church of the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel in BeogradBelgrade.
