His Grace, '''Bishop Daniel of Pamphilon''' is a [[titular bishop]] of the [[Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the USA]] ([[Ecumenical Patriarchate]]) serving in the United States. He is the presiding bishop of the Western Diocese of the Church, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, as well as President of the Consistory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA.
Bishop Daniel was born Volodymyr Zelinsky in Buchach, Ternopil Region, Ukraine. He began his theological studies at the Seminary at Ivano-Frankivsk and later, in 1996, emigrated to the United States in order to continue his studies at Catholic University of America as well as the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, DC. It was at this time that he was ordained to the deaconate.
In 2000, he was received into the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the USA, and completed his theological program at [[St. Sophia Ukrainian Orthodox Theological Seminary (South Bound Brook, New Jersey)|St. Sophia Ukrainian Orthodox Theological Seminary in South Bound Brook, New Jersey]]. He received his masters in Applied Orthodox Theology from the University of Balamand in 2002.
In 2001, then-deacon Volodymyr was elevated to the holy priesthood, and in the following year he was ordained a Hieromonk and was given the name Daniel. In 2007, he was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite, and shortly thereafter the Sobor of the UOC of the USA made him "bishop-elect".
Bishop Daniel was formally elected as titular Bishop of Pamphilon on [[January 9]], 2008. He was consecrated a bishop on [[May 10]], 2008 at [[St. Volodymyr Cathedral (Parma, Ohio)|St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Parma, Ohio]].
Since January, 2013, His Grace Bishop Daniel formally assumed responsibilities of President of the Consistory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA.
