Nikodimos (Anagnostou) of Ierissos

Nikodimos (Anagnostou) was born in 1931 in the village of Lisvorio on Lesbos Island in the northern Aegean Sea. His theological education was at the [[Theological School of Halki]] with postgraduate studies at the University of Birmingham. Entering the [[Holy Orders]], he was [[ordination|ordained]] a [[deacon]] in 1955 and a [[priest]] later that year. He served as [[abbot]] at [[Monastery of the Vlatades (Thessalonica, Greece)|Vlatadon Monastery ]] and with the Patriarchal Institute for Patristic Studies[] in Thessalonica.
Father Nikodimos was elected to the [[episcopate]] in 1981 and was [[consecration of a bishop|consecrated]] Metropolitan of Ierissos, Agion Oros and Ardamerion on [[March 18]], 1981.
