His Beatitude '''Nicholas VI of Alexandria''' was the Pope and Patriarch of the [[Church of Alexandria]] from 1968 to 1986.
Nicholas (Valeropoulos) was born in February 1915.
Bishop Nicholas was the first [[bishop]] [[enthronement|enthroned]] in the newly formed Metropolis of Irinoupolis, in 1959, that supported the Orthodox missionary activity in East Africa consisting of the countries of Kenya, Tazmania, and [[Uganda]].
He was elected [[patriarch]] on [[May 10]], 1968 .
Patr. Nicholas VI took a strong stand against the popular religious position of ecumenicalism, considering it not only a [[heresy]] but a pan-heresy.
He reposed on [[July 9]], 1986.
