Welcome to OrthodoxWiki!

Hello, Willibrord, and welcome to OrthodoxWiki!

Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Please note that OrthodoxWiki is always in development, so not everything works quite right yet. You can help, though!

OrthodoxWiki is a community-edited encyclopedia of Orthodox Christianity. Articles are created and edited by our members, and so everything that we do here is subject to review and revision. The result is a true consensus product, with every interested editor contributing his own knowledge and writing skills. As such, when you feel that criticism of an article is warranted, we encourage you to join in and fix it! Don't worry about breaking anything or doing something wrong—the other editors here are happy to jump in and help you learn.

By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and other discussion pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. Please sign your comments on Talk pages, so everyone will easily be able to see who left them.

You'll have to verify your email address before editing any pages. This helps us prevent spam. Don't worry, your email won't be viewable to anyone but the sysops. We respect your privacy.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Questions page, or ask me on my Talk page.

We hope you enjoy editing here and being a part of our community! --magda 18:11, 22 Apr 2005 (CDT)

Response

If I get the time sometime soon, I will try to look over what you referred to in some detail. However, it may be a while, since my parish is hosting our diocesan conference this week.

In any event, my unofficial warning to you was not due to your having responded, but due to the manner of your response. You often indulged in pretty negative characterization of your interlocutor rather than dealing exclusively with the question of improving the article. That's inappropriate on OrthodoxWiki. As I have to Fr. Lev in email, I encourage you to ignore any comments directed at your person and focus only on content issues. If you don't, then you'll receive an official warning.

I have protected the article in question for the time being. —Fr. Andrew talk contribs (THINK!) 15:46, June 28, 2008 (UTC)

BTW, just as an expansion of the above: It is not the sysop's job to check others' original research but to enforce the rules. Since the article in question has clearly become the subject of controversy, it will need to be thoroughly sourced from citable, reliable, third-party publications. —Fr. Andrew talk contribs (THINK!) 00:10, July 19, 2008 (UTC)

First official warning

You are being issued an official warning for uncivil behavior by a sysop, as set forth in OrthodoxWiki's official disciplinary policy. This is your first warning.

If you wish to appeal this warning, you may do so by posting on OrthodoxWiki Talk:Administrators and stating the reason why you believe this warning was issued in error. Do not remove this warning yourself. Doing so will be considered uncivil behavior.

The behavior for which you are being warned is: See my comments here. —Fr. Andrew talk contribs (THINK!) 12:23, August 7, 2008 (UTC)

Just FYI

Your first Talk page edit on OrthodoxWiki included your name.

As to the rest that you posted on Talk:Liturgy of St. Tikhon of Moscow, as noted above, you are welcome to appeal the warning at the proper place. I looked over the contributions of your interlocutor since the Disciplinary Policy was put in place, and I did not feel that they warranted a warning. Perhaps another editor or group thereof will feel differently. —Fr. Andrew talk contribs (THINK!) 02:36, August 9, 2008 (UTC)
