Welcome to OrthodoxWiki!

Hello, Unique, and welcome to OrthodoxWiki!

Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Please note that OrthodoxWiki is always in development, so not everything works quite right yet. You can help, though!

OrthodoxWiki is a community-edited encyclopedia of Orthodox Christianity. Articles are created and edited by our members, and so everything that we do here is subject to review and revision. The result is a true consensus product, with every interested editor contributing his own knowledge and writing skills. As such, when you feel that criticism of an article is warranted, we encourage you to join in and fix it! Don't worry about breaking anything or doing something wrong—the other editors here are happy to jump in and help you learn.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Questions page, or ask me on my Talk page.

We hope you enjoy editing here and being a part of our community!

Copyright Concern?

Hi Unique, please see my note on Russian True-Orthodox Church (Vyacheslav). I'll delete the articles in the next few days if no confirmation of permission is made. — FrJohn (talk)

Hi Unique, thanks for your response on my user page. I'm glad to know we have permission, but we also need to know under what license it can be released. By default, content here is dual licensed (see OrthodoxWiki:Copyrights for details). Is this material submitted under these terms, or do they want to keep their own copyright intact? If they do, it still can be posted here, but must be clearly marked! Thanks, — FrJohn (talk)
No problem. This kind of website takes a little getting used it, but it is a great way to work together on the web! As for the article, may I assume it's released under our default copyright, then? If so, glad to hear it! We are happy to take material even if rough form, and will gradually edit it to conform to the mission of this site. Best wishes, — FrJohn (talk)

Hi, Unique. After re-reading the discussion between you and Fr. John from February, I understand that you are the owner and administrator of the blago.org server. However, since the article explicitly states that no content may be reproduced "in whole or in part in any form or medium without express written permission from BLAGO" we will need a citation of the source (such as a link), and explicit permission to reproduce and edit the article on OrthodoxWiki; if permission to edit the article is not given, we may be able to protect the page as part of our contributed articles series. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. —magda (talk) 20:44, May 24, 2006 (CDT)

I hope I am doing this right. We have fixed "Copyright" issue. On the main site (theorthodox.org) we add RELEASE AGREEMENT on the bottom of the page. Page http://theorthodox.org/true_orthodox_church2.htm has been taking down and information which was on that page was moved to the index page: http://theorthodox.org/index.html Let me know what else need to be done. Thank you in advance. Unique 10:55, May 25, 2006 (CDT)
