Welcome to OrthodoxWiki!

Hello, Roman Z, and welcome to OrthodoxWiki!

Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Please note that OrthodoxWiki is always in development, so not everything works quite right yet. You can help, though!

OrthodoxWiki is a community-edited encyclopedia of Orthodox Christianity. Articles are created and edited by our members, and so everything that we do here is subject to review and revision. The result is a true consensus product, with every interested editor contributing his own knowledge and writing skills. As such, when you feel that criticism of an article is warranted, we encourage you to join in and fix it! Don't worry about breaking anything or doing something wrong—the other editors here are happy to jump in and help you learn.

Ukrainian OrthodoxWiki

Dear Roman,

Thank you for your interest in creating a Ukrainian version of OrthodoxWiki. Please see OrthodoxWiki:Localization for our vision of how this would work. A key thing for us is the translation of the "offical" docs -- the material about copyright and a basic consistency with OrthodoxWiki policies.

Also, it takes a fair amount of work to get something up and running and maintained. You'll need to be watchful especially about vandalism on the wiki.

Let me know what you think, and we'll go from there.

In Christ,

FrJohn (talk) 21:54, March 12, 2009 (UTC)

Dear Fr John,

I can get it started and start contributing articles. I have been on Ukrainian wikipedia for couple of years (the first article I developed on Ukrainian wikipedia was about Jesus Christ) and have contributed with more than 500 articles about saints on Ukrainian wikipedia and dozens of articles about Holy Land, Christian dogmas, events, feasts, sacraments etc.

I also created and maintain portals Christianity (http://uk.wikipedia.org/wiki/Портал:Християнство) and Philosophy (http://uk.wikipedia.org/wiki/Портал:Філософія) on Ukrainian wikipedia and work on subjects related to geography (cities), Iceland, Israel etc. I am baptised and chrismated Orthodox Christian born in Ukraine, living in Iceland. So I look forward to get it started.
