As you probably noticed that during our discussions in 2007 about deleting parish directory pages in the USA that I agreed in their removal, mainly over the issue of maintaining their currency. I still favor their removal for that reason. Also, even the effort of maintaining a simple listing of parishes for the world means thousands of entries, maybe tens of thousands, that should be in some orderly manner but could be difficult given the differences of opinions concerning identity of the ecclesiastical groups. I've noticed that you've moved several Australian bishops' articles recently. I'm wondering about the naming conventions—our custom thus far has not been to include the "full" title of each bishop in the article name, but rather to include only the primary see or sees. Thus, instead of "of Moscow and All Russia," we'd use just "of Moscow." Are these bishops' sees "of Australia," "of Sydney," or something else? (Ref: [[OrthodoxWiki:Style Manual (People)]]) —[[User:ASDamick|{{User:ASDamick/sig}}]] 08:54, 12 Jul 2005 (EDT)

::usually, the sees are (for whatever reason) of australia, or of australia and new zealand. the only bishop that would be covered under the convention is Archbishop Hilarion (which i will change back); the other bishops are all bishops _of_ a country or both countries, not of the city that they reside (usually sydney). “...I have accordingly, held a meeting of the main people of our Hobart mission, where I explained to them what has happened, the vicious politics and the changes in ROCOR. I told them that I could no longer stay in ROCOR. They were already aware of some of my feelings. The Mission will remain intact under Metropolitan Hilarion, with Fr Barry in charge - as has been the practice for some considerable time...

That was what I thought—I'm not familiar with Orthodoxy in your part of the world (though I'm glad you're fleshing out it here—very interesting!), so I wanted to check. We have one such bishop here: the primate of the [[Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America]] is styled ''Archbishop of America''. —[[User:ASDamick|{{User:ASDamick/sig}}]] 09:01, 13 Jul 2005 (EDT)

One trick I thought you might like to know: You can link to categories without placing the article itself in the category by putting a ":" before the string within the double brackets, like this: '''<nowiki>[[:Category:Saints]]</nowiki>''' yields [[:Category:Saints]]. (I noticed you had categories linked on your userpage as one would do external links.) —[[User:ASDamick|{{User:ASDamick/sig}}]] 09:12, 13 Jul 2005 (EDT)

I hope you don't mind, but I've knighted you a sysop. This will allow you some more flexibility in managing pages. AYour mission, should you choose to accept it, will also involve a slight bit of responsbility (don't worry) in keeping an eye on how things are going at OrthodoxWiki as a whole and helping to resolve any problems that arise. Please read [[OrthodoxWiki:Administrators]] when you get a chance.

If you send me your preferred email I can add you to the Yahoo group if you're interested. Mainly, this group serves to alert me of technical problems with the board and is also a place to discuss the occasional administrative issues that come up in way that allows a little more privacy than an owiki page!

This is only my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. Instead of creating a heading like History and writing coming soon! you may want to consider using the [[Template:Inprogress|In Progress template]].

If you think it will be a while before you get to the article, you might want to leave out the heading altogether. They will naturally appear as the article fills out.

: Thanks for your response. Using the In Progess template is definetely well-suited for short-term use (although I have violated this with the [[Template:Orthodoxchristianity| Introduction to Orthodox Christianity]] series.)
