Hi, Brian. I saw your note on Pistevo's talk page and wanted to update you on the question of the photo. I just spoke with Sayedna Thomas on the phone, so I am aware that the recent changes were made at his request.

I've deleted the previous photo from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The content issues (the recent doctorate and the year of Sayedna's birth) have also been resolved, as you can see by a new reading of the article. There's no problem with someone asking that a picture which he doesn't like of himself to be removed, and we can certainly do that as a courtesy, which I've done.

As for the new image, :Image:BPTHOMAS.jpeg, by law we need to get explicit permission from the copyright holder (presumably the Antiochian Archdiocese) in order to use it on OrthodoxWiki. I hope that either you or Dcn. Stephen will know how to get that permission. Once we've received permission, the image can be incorporated into the article. (Right now, no image is included.)

Regarding the previous reversions of the article—other editors were just following our standard policy of reverting changes that could potentially land us in legal hot water (including removing images we don't have legal permission to use). Thanks for your contributions, and I hope we can work out collaboration in the smoothest manner possible.

Welcome to OrthodoxWiki!

Hello, Brianpartridge, and welcome to OrthodoxWiki!

Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Please note that OrthodoxWiki is always in development, so not everything works quite right yet. You can help, though!

OrthodoxWiki is a community-edited encyclopedia of Orthodox Christianity. Articles are created and edited by our members, and so everything that we do here is subject to review and revision. The result is a true consensus product, with every interested editor contributing his own knowledge and writing skills. As such, when you feel that criticism of an article is warranted, we encourage you to join in and fix it! Don't worry about breaking anything or doing something wrong—the other editors here are happy to jump in and help you learn.

As for the new image, Image:BPTHOMAS.jpeg, by law we need to get explicit permission from the copyright holder (presumably the Antiochian Archdiocese) in order to use it on OrthodoxWiki.

I'm also emailing this message to both you and Dcn. Stephen. —Dcn. Andrew talk random contribs 21:03, August 13, 2006 (CDT)
