Sounds like a pretty sane philosophy, Fr. Andrew! Thanks for posting this here, and please do feel free to integrate some of this into the core wiki docs as you see fit. — FrJohn (talk) 18:42, February 8, 2008 (PST)

Thanks! Having been an OrthodoxWikian (not sure that's the best term, but it'll do for now) for more than three years now, I've come to regard the place as "mine" in some sense—not in the sense of possession, of course, but as a sort of "home," at least in one of the many senses of home that we can have in this temporal world, with all the genuineness this Third Culture Kid can muster, anyway. —Fr. Andrew talk contribs (THINK!) 19:07, February 8, 2008 (PST)
I'm also delighted with your explanatory thoughts (as usual). I understand the "mine" feeling: like picking up trash on "my" campus. Even when I'm in the middle of a long run of activity, I always wish I could do more here. —magda (talk) 19:32, February 11, 2008 (PST)

OrthodoxSource

Hi, in your Wiki-philosophy you refer us to OrthodoxSource. I might have mentioned it already but this site will not allow me to create a User account. So, as well meaning as your direction is ...its not possible unless those who manage that site fix the problem. -- Vasiliki 14:05, February 12, 2008 (PST)

I didn't know that. I'll let FrJohn know. (It's supposed to be set up such that you can login there with your OrthodoxWiki ID and password.) —Fr. Andrew talk contribs (THINK!) 18:19, February 12, 2008 (PST)

Your Private Project

+ A lot of people came here before you and will come after. Every one of them, so long as they abide by policy, has the right to change what you've contributed. No article is "yours." There's a community here, and like any community, it has a hierarchy. It has its elders and its babies. It has its crazy old men and its charming young women. It has its cantankerous diehards and its destructive vandals. There's room for them all (except the vandals, of course).

I have worked out ur technique. This paragraph is good, yeah? but being upset with you had nothing to do with the deletion of an article ...it had to do with ur overall 'dismissiveness' - DELETE NOW, QUESTION LATER approach. There is a difference between people who come and go ...and a difference between people who have come and are showing signs of wanting to stay and are working pretty damn hard ...these people deserve to be 'spoken to' (just like in reality, you dont dismiss people you have a conversation with them first and then action). So, though your philosophy might say a lot to you ...it has flaws because you dont look at the glass from other sides! BTW, the HIGHEST elder (in Hierarchy and structure) was Christ, and quoting, he says to those who rule to be 'slaves' - submissive to those beneath them. I cant be bothered elaborating this comment bc I am also working on a financial database for work but I am sure you will catch my point. Vasiliki 04:12, June 19, 2008 (UTC)
