A tool engineer by profession, Paul Simon is a retired businessman settled in the industrial town of Hosur in Southern India.

Although both he and his wife Susanna were born and brought up in Orthodox Syrian Christian families, Paul's contact with the Church after his school days was only occasional. After they settled in Hosur, his family used to attend churches of other denominations, as there was no Orthodox Church in Hosur.

It was only when in 2002 that the St. Gregorios Church in Hosur was established they began to attend the Services regularly.This contact with the Orthodox Church after such a long interval, gave Paul a desire to refresh his understanding of the Syriac Orthodox Faith, Traditions and the Holy Mass.

The search for information made him realise that there were many like him, who may be interested in gaining a basic knowledge about the Church. This is what inspired him to compile the contents ofthe website www.stgregorioshosur.com
