His Beatitude Timothy IV of Alexandria, an opponent of the Fourth Ecumenical Council, was the Patriarch and Pope of Alexandria of the Church of Alexandria from 520 to 535. He is listed as Timothy III by the Coptic Church of Alexandria which does not recognize Timothy III Salofacioius as a patriarch. Timothy IV was a Miaphysite.

Life

Little is known of the life of Timothy IV. He held Miaphysite sympathies during the era of controversy between Chalcedon and non-Chalcedon supporters following the Council at Chalcedon as the schism within the Alexandria Church grew. He supported missionary efforts into Arabia.

Timothy IV died in 535.
