Tikhon (Troitsky) of San Francisco
His Eminence the Most Reverend Tikhon (Troitsky) of San Francisco was Archbishop of San Francisco and Western America during the 1940s through to the 1960s. He was one of the bishops who remained with the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad during the schism of the Metropolia in the 1946. The American bishops voted 4 out of 9 to leave the Russian Church Abroad at the infamous Cleveland Sobor. 5 remained with the Church Abroad, four left to form the independant Metrpolia (early OCA). He was succeeded in the See of San Francisco by Saint John Maximovitch in 1962. He is buried at Holy Trinity Monastery (Jordanville, New York).
