In 1972 he graduated from the Theological School and in 1976 from the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens. He received he Ph.D. from the University of Manchester.

From 1972 until 1979 he served as Priest in charge and Headmaster of the Greek Schools of the Orthodox Communities of Cambridge, Manchester and St Nicholas, London. From the same year until 2000 he served at the Cathedral of St Paraskevi of the Archdiocese of Athens. With his help the [[Cathedral]] was renovated, a House for Elderly people, a Chapel and a Parish Spiritual Centre were built.
