:I think it's a good idea, but should be used judiciously, and only when a user is actually actively working on something -- the label shouldn't be sitting around on a page for months. I made it mainly because I'm actively working on [[Byzantine response to OCA autocephaly|this article]], and I didn't want visitors to think it was done or for anyone else to mess with my grand scheme (yet).  :)  But it occurred to me that it might be useful for other stuff, too.  And yes, I only intended it to be for an article someone was actively working on.  &mdash;[[User:ASDamick|<font color="blue"><b><i>Dcn. I changed it to:  '''<nowiki>{{inprogress|~~~}}</nowiki>'''  This will put your name there.  It will add a link to your user page using the Nickname in your Preferences. (A fourth ~ will also add the date and time)

Under what conditions would this template be used? What page(s) should talk about using this template? --magda 22:08, 21 Jun 2005 (EDT)

I think it's a good idea, but should be used judiciously, and only when a user is actually actively working on something -- the label shouldn't be sitting around on a page for months. Just like with the "stub" template, we can check up on what's "in progress" by using this link.

I made it mainly because I'm actively working on this article, and I didn't want visitors to think it was done or for anyone else to mess with my grand scheme (yet).  :) But it occurred to me that it might be useful for other stuff, too. And yes, I only intended it to be for an article someone was actively working on. —Dcn. Andrew talk random contribs 06:27, 22 Jun 2005 (EDT)

How does one insert their username in that "being edited by field"? --[[User:Joe Rodgers|Joe ( talk » inspect » chat )]] 04:00, 3 Jul 2005 (EDT)

Like this: {{inprogress| user=YourNameHere}} —Dcn. Andrew talk random contribs 07:50, 3 Jul 2005 (EDT)

I changed it to: {{inprogress|~~~}} This will put your name there. It will add a link to your user page using the Nickname in your Preferences. (A fourth ~ will also add the date and time)
