Talk:Holy Unction

It would appear that a fourth-century collection of prayers and services, known as The Euchologion of Serapion of Thmuis, forms a basis to the Sacrament of the Holy Unction. In this work we find two prayers related to the sacrament: one is the blessing of the oil; the other is the prayer of annointing. This book is extant at the Great Lavra in Mount Athos so it would appear that it should be included in the main body of this article since it appears to support this sacrament? One quick question about the article. It says that anointing only happens at the end of the service, after all seven Gospel readings and prayers. I know that is the form used during Holy Week and at other times when a lot of people are present to be anointed, but at least according to the Hapgood, the normal practice outside of the special Holy Week form is for people to be anointed seven times, once after each Gospel reading and prayer. Should that be changed and/or explained in the article? -- Fr. John
