:When I first looked up information about ''Apostle Nathaniel of the 70'' and I already knew the ''Apostle Bartholomew'' was also call Nathaniel, but I did not know if they were the same Nathaniel.  But after looking around a while, I can not find anyone that  states that there are two named Nathaniel.  I found  many sites say that  Bartholomew means ''Bar-Tolmai'' or ''the son of Tolmai'', not really a name at all. It is very interesting  that  Nathaniel  calls Jesus ''Son of God'', at their first meeting, and Nathaniel is called ''the son of Tolmai'' when we first meet him in scripture.  But before I babble on to long, yes I think that there should be only on article for both names.  I also wonder if we should remove the name Nathaniel from the list of Seventy on the [[Apostle]] page? (there are already over 75 listed there) - [[User:Andrew|Andrew]] 07:05, March 21, 2008 (PDT)

Should this redirect to Apostle Bartholomew, with clarifications on that page? Several sources support that they are the same: [1] and [2]. This even writes, "Sts John Chrysostom, Cyril of Alexandria, Epiphanius of Cyprus and certain other teachers of the Church regard the Apostle Bartholomew as being the same person as Nathanael (John 1:45-51, 21:2)." —magda (talk) 15:59, March 20, 2008 (PDT)
