Paraskeve the New

PARASKEVE (rom. Parascheva, hbs. Petka) also called 'the New' or 'the Young', Saint, celebrated on the 14/27th of October. Particularly venerated today in the historical region of Moldavia (in Romania) but also generally in the Balkans. Considered as protector of Moldavia.

Born in Epivat (Thrace – Byzantium, near Constantinople) in 11th century, Paraskeve was of noble origin.
