Metropolitan Palladios (Antoniou) of Ptolemaid is the bishop of the see of Ptolemaid in Palestine under the jurisdiction of the Church of Jerusalem.

Life

Vasilios Antoniou was born in 1935 in Amaliada of Helias in the western Pelloponese of Greece. He arrived in Jerusalem in 1955. After he graduated from the Patriarchal School he was tonsured a monk, receiving the name Palladios, and then entered the Holy Orders as he was ordained a deacon in 1957. He continued his education at the Theological School of Halki.

In 1964, he was ordained to the priesthood and, then, a year later in 1965, raised to the dignity of archimandrite. In 1968, Fr. Palladios was sent to England to learn the English language and for further studies. After his return to Jerusalem he was elected to the Holy Synod of the patriarchate. He also served as Secretary at the Patriarchal Offices and was member of the Educational Board of the Schools in Jerusalem.

On May 23, 1975, Fr. Palladios was appointed Exarch of the Most Holy Sepulchre in Greece. In October 1976, he was elected and consecrated Archbishop of Jordan. He, also, served as President of the Ecclesiastic Judicial Court. On April 28, 1981, he was named Patriarchal Representative to Bethlehem. In 1983, Abp. Palladios was appointed President of the Ecclesiastic Court of Appeals. In 1985, he was appointed a member of the Selection Council. In 1998, he was named Metropolitan of Ptolemaid.
