His Grace, Bishop Mark (Maymon) of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Diocese of Toledo and the Midwest was born in Indiana. Baptized in the Roman Catholic Church he later became a Pentecostal Christian and for a period of time taught Old Testament at Oral Roberts University (ORU) in Tulsa, Oklahoma before his conversion to the Orthodox Church. He later attended St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary in Crestwood, New York. He served as pastor of St. John's Antiochian Orthodox Church in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Later he served at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan before he was elected Bishop by the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch.
