Fr. Georgii Ivanov Shavel'sky (January 6, 1871 - October 2, 1951) was Protopresbyter of the Russian Army and Navy under Nicholas II in Pre-revolutionary Russia. Senior member of the Holy Synod, one of 25 candidates for the office of the Patriarch on the Sobor of 1917-1918, a prominent and outstanding Church activist of the time, commenting on the state of affairs of the Church of Russia before the Bolshevik Revolution.
