Entrance of the Mother of God into the Temple Skete (Hayesville, Ohio)
The Entrance of the Mother of God Into the Temple Skete is a monastic community for women and an independent hesychastarion in the Diocese of Pittsburgh of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, located near Hayesville, Ohio. It was established in 2004 by His Eminence Metropolitan Maximos of Pittsburgh. It has a close relationship with St. Gregory Palamas Monastery, which is only about two miles away and supplies its chaplain for divine services when needed.
Gerondissa Theadelphi, who leads the skete, converted to Orthodoxy about 25 years ago and initially entered monastic life through the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, coming to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese some time later. She is a member of the community of the Monastery of the Holy Apostle Paul in Greece, where she received the Great Schema five years ago. With the blessing of her monastery in Greece she is quietly laboring to establish English-language monasticism for women under Metropolitan Maximos in the Greek Archdiocese.
