Hieromonk Dimitry (Obuhoff) served in the Diocese of Australia and New Zealand, ROCOR.

Biographical timeline

  • Nikolai Obuhoff born in Perm, Siberia, in May 1906.
  • Fled with family in 1917 (due to Revolution and civil war). Settled in Manchuria.
  • Nikolai worked on Manchurian branch of Trans-Siberian Railway.
  • After father reposed, Nikolai moved to Beijing to become a novice in the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission.
  • 1932: Completed theological studies, was tonsured and given name 'Dimitry', ordained to diaconate and priesthood by Abp Simon of Peking and China.
  • Ministered to Peking Mission, Our Lady of Kazan Monastery, and St. Alexis parish in Modyago.
