His Eminence Damaskinos (Roumeliotis) of Maroneia and Komotene is the Metropolitan of the Metropolis of Maroneia and Komotene that is under the administration of the Church of Greece. The Metropolis of Maroneia and Komotene is a metropolis in the New Lands of Greece, under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. [1]

Life

Peter Roumeliotis was born in 1929 in Ichalia, Messinia in southwestern Peloponnese. After completing his theological education, he was ordained a deacon and given the name Damaskinos in 1951. He was ordained a priest in 1958. After Fr. Damaskinos' election as a bishop in 1974, he was consecrated and enthroned metropolitan of Maroneia and Komotene on May 30, 1974.
