His Beatitude Cosmas III of Alexandria was the Patriarch of the Church of Alexandria from 1736 to 1746.

Life

Little is known of the life of Patr. Cosmas. He was well educated and served as Metropolitan of Pisidia before his election to the see of the Patriarchate of Alexandria by the Patriarchate of Constantinople. During his tenure the patriarchate was heavily in debt, with an income that was enough only to pay the interest on the debt.
