I first created a subcategory "Emperors" but felt that was not as descriptive as necessary, considering being a part of the "Emperors and Kings" category. However, I didnt know whether to divide into Roman and Byzantine Emperors or have one Romano-Byzantine, or Roman/Byzantine Emperors subcategory. For the time being I've compromised with just "Roman Emperors" because while all Byzantine Emperors were Roman Emperors, not all Roman Emperors were Byzantine Emperors. I hope that makes sense... If anyone has a better idea (2 subcategories, Roman and Byzantine, or one umbrella subcategory Romano-Byzantine or Roman/Byzantine), please let me know. Hellenica 12:01, September 9, 2006 (CDT)

Subdividing Emperors is also necessary to account for any Holy Roman Emperors that require distinction from the rest. I also am not sure if anyone wants to make a distinction between Eastern and Western Roman Emperors. I would think the HRE had more impact on Orthodoxy than the weak emperors of the West before 476.
