His Eminence Barthoromeos (Katsouris) of Megara and Salamis is the Metropolitan of the Metropolis of Megara and Salamis under the jurisdiction of the Church of Greece. Metr. Barthoromeos has led the metropolis since 1974. The metropolis is located in Attica, Greece between the cities of Athens and Corinth and includes the island of Salamis.
Life
Barthoromeos (Katsouris) was born in 1928 in Athens, Greece. His education included studies in law as well as theology. After completing his studies he entered the Holy Orders. In 1954, he was ordained a deacon, followed by his ordination into the priesthood in 1958. In 1974, Father Barthoromeos was elected to the episcopate and was consecrated Metropolitan of Megara and Salamis on May 27, 1974.
