As with other Old Calendarist jurisdictions, the Metropolia is not in communion with any of the mainstream Orthodox Churches. After the release of an official statement from Milan claiming fraternal relations with Moscow, the Metropolia released a [[clergy]] confession reiterating its rejection of [[ecumenism]], Sergianism, modernism, and the [[New Calendar]].  Communion ceased between the Autonomous Orthodox Metropolia of North and South America and of All the Isles and the [[Holy Synod of Milan]] on April 4, 2011.  The Sister Synod of America confirmed this cessation, attributing it to "the fact that the European Metropolia  broke communion with her sister churches, over her desire to unite with the World Orthodox Patriarchate of Moscow, which has been condemned by the former Sister Synods in America, Greece, Bulgaria, and  Russia (under criticized “Metropolitan of Moscow Raphael”, the former colonel of the KGB [[Леонид Семёнович Мотовилов]]- [[Russian True Orthodox Church (Raphaelites)]])

The Autonomous Orthodox Metropolia of North and South America and the British Isles was an Old Calendarist jurisdiction which was originally comprised of the Archdioceses of America and the British Deanery of the Holy Synod of Milan. It was granted Autonomous status on February 14/27, 2011 through Decree #542 of the Milan Synod.

Ecclesiastical Status

As with other Old Calendarist jurisdictions, the Metropolia is not in communion with any of the mainstream Orthodox Churches. After the release of an official statement from Milan claiming fraternal relations with Moscow, the Metropolia released a clergy confession reiterating its rejection of ecumenism, Sergianism, modernism, and the New Calendar. Communion ceased between the Autonomous Orthodox Metropolia of North and South America and of All the Isles and the Holy Synod of Milan on April 4, 2011.
