The holy, glorious, all-laudable Apostle Sivlan (sometimes called Silvanus) is numbered among the Seventy Apostles. He assisted both the Chief Apostles (I Peter 5:12; II Corinthians 1:19) and was Bishop of Thessalonica. After suffering much he reposed in the Lord. The Church remembers St. Silvan(us) on July 30.
