Apostle Silas
The holy, glorious, all-laudable Apostle Silas is numbered among the Seventy Apostles. St. Silas went with Sts. Paul and Barnabas from Antioch to Jerusalem to settle the dispute among believers there about circumcision. Following this he went traveling with St. Paul through Asia and Macedonia and was eventually made Bishop of Corinth. He reposed peacefully in the Lord. The Church remembers St. Silas on July 30 with Apostles Silvanus, Crescens, Epenetus, and Andronicus; and on January 4 with all the Apostles.
