George (Pańkowski) of Siemiatycze

His Grace George (Pankowski) of Siemiatycze is a vicar bishop of the Archdiocese of Warsaw-Bielsk of the Church of Poland. He is Professor of Theology at the Orthodox Theological Seminary in Warsaw.

Life

Mariusz Pańkowski was born on August 4, 1974. He received his theological education at the Orthodox Theological Seminary in Warsaw, Poland, graduating in 1993 and at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Athens, graduating in 1999.

He entered the Holy Orders when he was ordained a deacon on January 1, 1995. On October 15, 1998, he was tonsured a monk and received the Monastic name George.

On May 4, 1999, Dcn. George was ordained to the priesthood by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople.

On April 3, 2000, Father George was appointed the Prior of the Monastery of St. Onufry in Jabłeczna and raised to the dignity of archimandrite.

On January 28, 2007, Archim. George was consecrated to the episcopate as Bishop of Siemiatycze, suffragan of the Archdiocese of Warsaw-Bielsk.
