Dionysios (Kyratsos) of Drama

His Eminence Dionysios (Kyratsos) of Drama was the Metropolitan of the Metropolis of Drama under the administration of the Church of Greece. The Metropolis of Drama is a metropolis in the New Lands of Greece, under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. [1]. He served as the ruling hierarch of the metropolis from 1965 to 2005.

Life

Metr. Dionysios was born in Arnea, Chalkidiki, near Thessalonica, in 1923. After he completed his basic education, he entered the University of Thessalonica to study theology, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy degree.

He was ordained a deacon in 1945 and a priest in 1950. Fr. Dionysios was elected and consecrated bishop of Drama in 1965. Metr. Dionysios reposed on September 30, 2005. He was succeeded by Metropolitan Paul (Apostolidis).
